"No queues, empty pistes and awesome off-piste – who needs to go anywhere else?"

Ski Club of Great Britain

The Resort

Sainte Foy has 30 km of slopes that remain remarkably uncrowded apart from at Christmas and half term.  Even in the peak weeks, it’s much quieter than any big resorts and queues are tiny and rare! There is more than enough to keep children, beginners and the intermediate skier happy on the well groomed and pretty pistes. For advanced skiers there is superb, easily accessible off piste skiing which is where Sainte Foy comes into its own. There are 800 hectares of truly spectacular off-piste skiing. When the instructors from Val d'Isere want to ski on their day off, they come to Sainte Foy !

Ski passes are much cheaper than those for the surrounding resorts. For the 2007/2008 season a six day pass set you back €100 with extra days at around €13. If you stay longer than two weeks, or plan to return a few times in a season, a season pass is €306. Passes include discounted days at neighboring resorts.

The ESF ski School offers small group and individual lessons, for children and adults at very reasonable prices.  All instructors are friendly and speak excellent English!

The resort itself has one supermarket which is open daily.  There are a couple of bars and four good restaurants: “Alison’s” offers lovely lunch time fare and “Le Pitcholi” bar does fantastic pizzas. Ski equipment and hire is available at Zig Zags.

A short drive from the station, in Sainte Foy Village , “Le Monal” in boasts two excellent restaurants and a lively bar. In the village of Le Miroir , a short distance from Sainte Foy , Chez Marie Restaurant is well worth a visit, but you will need to book.
